Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibilities for managing and overseeing all aspects of a religious exempt private preschool; including but not limited to health and safety, enrollment and financial wellness, resourcing, staff training and retention, campus management, and delivery of high-quality education and care.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, faculty, and vendors.

  • Manage budgets/forecasts, licensing, and marketing initiatives.

  • Fostering a safe and joyful culture, modeling a Christian Environment.

  • Mange budgets/forecasts, licensing, inspections, and marketing initiatives.

 

Requirements & Credentialing

(Candidates with the following are preferred)

 

  • Degreed in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or related field.  (Experience and credentialing will be considered in lieu of degrees).

  • Credentialed as a Day Care Director per Florida Administrative Code

  • Credentials to include VPK Director Endorsement per Florida Administrative Code

  • No less than two years of prior experience in a pre-school setting

  • Certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid

  • Baptized Christian

  • Active member of the Naples Church of Christ

 

Responsibilities & Skills

The director will demonstrate the ability to oversee all preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance and facility operation I accordance with all state and local regulations, while fostering a Christ like environment. 

 

The Director is expected to demonstrate the following:

 

Ability to ensure regulatory adherence and a safe environment.

  • Understanding of all Florida state regulations related to day cares (staffing ratios, health, human & facility safety, and record maintenance, etc.)

  • Understanding of Florida licensing regulations for Religious Exemption Status

  • Understanding of the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) preschool program process

  • Knowledgeable in all applicable safety codes and managing a safe environment, including but not limited to ensuring

    • Disaster Planning Process

    • All staff are trained and properly credentialed, including CPR/First Aid

    • Conducting safety measures, such as daily grounds review and monthly fire drills

    • Safety matters are addressed immediately

 

Ability to manage human resources and ensure quality.

  • Manage qualified staff (hiring, training, developing, conducting performance reviews, and retaining)

  • Conduct staff meetings and training programs

  • Manage the work schedule of teaching and administrative staff

  • Maintain staff records

 

Ability to perform administrative tasks.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective organization and time management skills

  • Budget management & Forecasting

  • Ability to perform advertising to support the program, including the use of social media outlets

  • Ability to present updates to the Shepherds of Naples Church of Christ

  • Ability to organize and plan school functions, including but not limited to activities such as holiday plays, Halloween parade, graduation, festivals, VPD Orientation and open houses.

  • Develop & update operating processes

  • Set yearly school calendars

  • Conduct tours of the facility to prospective parents

  • Maintain student records

  • Order supplies and manage vendors

  • Foster positive relationships with families and community

 

Ability to oversee curriculum related activities/functions.

  • Develop/Select age appropriate curriculum for the program (approved by the NCOC Shepherds)

  • Ability to teach in the classroom as needed

  • Ability to lead chapel programs, directed toward educating children regarding Christian principles

  • Ability to conduct children’s hearing and vision screen programs

  • Facilitate enrichment classes such as dance / soccer programs

  • Facilitate community engagements such as visits from professionals within the community (fire department, police, etc.)
